THE REGULAR CLASSES

Bharata Kalanjali (Chennai) teaches mainly Bharatanaatyam, as full time course for serious students of the subject.

There are group class as well as individual class facilities.

Fee structure for the general group class for full time serious dance students is on the basis of 5 days a week classes.

Part time group class
It is for 2 days a week. There is a Beginners class as well as Advanced class. This is meant mainly for school children who can attend the dance classes after school / college timings.

Full time individual class
It is for 5 days a week. Students spend 2 to 3 hours daily in learning, practicing, watching other classes, attending theory class and also allowed to practice in the group classes on weekends, making it 7 days a week if a student is able to manage it

BEGINNERS CLASS
1. Special individual class: one hour a day (day basis)
2. Weekly 3 classes basis
3. Weekly 5 classes basis
4. Special course 3 months above (5 classes a week of one hour a day)

ADVANCED STUDENTS CLASS

2. Advanced classes on item basis

BHARATANAATYAM
The traditional Indian classical dance in solo format.
3 year course / one year intensive course: fee structure differs for 3-year course and 1 year course.
Includes practical fundamental lessons for a year, followed by repertoire lessons depending upon the capacity of the student. He/she will be equipped with a repertoire to be performed – 7 items.
Study includes basic theory lessons in dance.

One-year course covers basic fundamentals and if the student is good and hard working, a few suitable items for performance will be taught.

BHARATA KALANJALI can undertake to facilitate training in Carnatic vocal and instrumental music. The fee will depend on the teacher and may be directly handled by the student with the teacher.

There are no hostel facilities in Bharata Kalanjali, Chennai.

KATHAKALI
A theatrical temple art of Kerala, it is a very difficult art form which needs several years of practice to master it. The 3-year course will offer basic techniques, expressions and a few solo items. Depending upon the caliber of the student, he / she will be able to perform with the elaborate costume and make-up at the end of the course.
This course is offered only at Bhaaskara, Payyanur.

BHAASKARA offers courses in Bharatanaatyam, Kathakali, Carnatic music vocal and mridangam, Samskritam language.

Hostel facilities are available. Hostel fees including food and accommodation costs Rs.4000 per month. Tuition fee is Rs.3000 for individual classes and Rs.1500 for group classes.

All special classes will have 3 to 4 students depending on the standard of the individuals attending the class. However, individual attention will be given to each student.

Generally, students are allowed to sit and watch the other classes. Occasionally, they can join the group classes in the evening. If one wants to join the evening group classes regularly, there is an additional fee to be paid.

All fees must be paid in advance.

The institution is responsible only with training the students in their respective subject.

The institution is not responsible for personal immigration / medical / insurance problems.

Professional studio recording of a margam of 7 items can be done.
Copies of pre-recorded items, if available, can be provided.
Rates depend according to studio, mode of recording, number of musicians involved etc.
