HISTORIC MOMENTS FREEZED -
V.P.DHANANJAYAN (AS VALMIKI) & C.K.BALAGOPAL (AS HANUMAN) IN A MEGA
PRODUCTION BY APSARA ARTS (SINGAPORE)
Dhananjayan and Balagopal started their career in Naatya in 1955 as Sri
Raama and Lakshmana in Rukminidevi's Valmiki Raamayana series
(Seethaaswayamvaram). They were dancing together in many different roles in Kalakshetra dance
dramas until Dhananjayan left the institution in 1968. After almost 50
years they were brought together by Apsara Arts of Singapore in a
mega-mega production AANJANEYAM (Hanuman's Raamayana). This is a
historic coming together of these two legendary artistes for which the
Apsara Arts and it's founder late Smt.Neila Satyalingam should be
credited and congratulated. Aravinth Kumarasami is the super head who
put it all together.
