BHARATA NRUTYOTSAVAM 2012
The Naatya Department of DR. MGR JANAKI College and Bharata Kalanjali
jointly conducted yet another Naatya festival in city this year.
The college campus has good ambience and infrastructure to hold such
events with good parking space.
The four days Bharatanaatyam performances (Dec 28rh to 31st) started on
dot and end on dot 8.p.m as announced. All the four days
performers are from abroad with excellent caliber.
The first day Sangeeta Balasingam from UK a student of Pushkala Gopal
proved her merit with consummate Abhinaya proves with
less physical steadiness.
Sarveshan from South Africa (student of Darshana) on the
second day was vibrant and masculine in total. He excelled both in
technique and male oriented Abhinaya , imbibed from his grand teacher
Dhananjayan.
Aparna Ramaswamy’s student Dhriti Sooryakumar from USA looked
gorgeous with her expressive eyes and limbs some body. She
captured the attention of the audience with crisp rhythmic execution and
devotional fervor throughout.
The last day 31st found yet another brilliant dancer Madhavi Reddy
from the USA trained under Padmarani Rasiah , Virginia . A
flawless performance conducted by Shanta Dhananjayan was indeed a
befitting finale.
A Neat mini hall stage ‘Vaibhavam’ lent a good atmosphere with no banners or stickers around.
