Poornima
celebrated her 25 years of dancing
The Dhananjayans
felicitated Poornima Ashok for completing 25 years of dedicated career
in Bharatnaatyam and complimented her for achievements and excellence in
performance. Endowed with all required qualities for a Bharatanaatyam artiste,
Poornima stands a testimony to total dedication. Kudos to Poornima
for her endeavour to harnessing the best of Bangalore artistes like Kiran
& Sandhya (The Kirans) and Praveen to take part in her silver jubilee
year and those artistes paying dancing tributes to their contemporary.
Poornima,
a renowned bharatanatyam dancer of Bangalore, founder of Nrityanjali School
of Bharatanatyam, disciple of the Dhananjayans
celebrated
her 25 years of dancing on the 31st of May 2009 at the J.S.S auditirium,
Bangalore.
On
this occassion, her gurus Padmabhushan The Dhananjayans graced the occassion.
The
revered gurus were felicitated by Sreenivasan, DG, IGP (retd ) and Justice.
N Kumar. Radha Sridhar inaugurated the dance festival.
The
performances of the evening
'SOLO
RECITAL BY POORNIMA, THE KIRANS, duet by Praveen Soundarya.
Two
group presentations by the upcoming disciples of Praveen and Poornima was
a treat tro watch.
The
finale composed and choreographed for the occassion called 'BRAHMAARPANA',
performed by all the above mentioned artists was a delight to watch.
