GURUKULAM CAMP 2011
"Home away from Home"
The 23rd
annual Naatya Adhyayana
Gurukulam is yet another
milestone event in the
annals of history of
Bhaarateeya Samskriti
being established in the
US. This annual event is
considered as a
trendsetting cultural
event, which contributes
to the development of
India performing arts, a
great community service
strengthening the bond
between USA and India
(Bharat).
The Gurukulam flagged
off on 2nd July and the
first camp culminated on
22nd July with a full
house participation of
35 students. The second
senior’s camp ended on
2nd August.
Students learning at
various levels fully
utilized the presence of
The Dhananjayans and
strict discipline
imparted by Padmarani
Cantu Rasiah, the
resident director of
Fine arts society,
Yogaville.
Rukmini Rasiah (Amma
Rasiah) at 93 is always
an inspiration to the
inmates. The daily
routine of Yoga,
practical and theory
classes of Naatya and
Sangeetam and Bhajan
classes and Satsang
filled the 5 weeks
Gurukulam making this
annual event one of its
kind not only in the USA
but globally.
Heading for the silver
jubilee in 2013, Amma
Rasiah all geared up for
the great event
informing all old alumni
to be part of this epoch
making celebration in
2013 summer.
